Register for a Google Account

A Google Account grants you access to a number of Google services. You can use a Google Account to do things like:

• Use Gmail which is a program that allows you to send and receive emails.
• Access YouTube which is a great place to find new videos.
• Download and install mobile applications using Google Play.
• Login to Google Classroom, perform activities and answer online quizzes and assessments.
• Video conferencing with other Google Meet users.

Google ask for certain personal information when you try to establish a Google Account. You can help keep your account secure and make google services more useful by giving an accurate information.

Steps to create a Google Account

1. In your browser, Go to the Google account Sign in page (https://accounts.google.com/).
   
   
   
2. Create an account by clicking the Create Account button.
   
   
   
3. Please enter your name (for students, please indicate your realname).
   
   
   
4. Enter a username in the "Username" field. In this field, you can use letters, numbers and periods. 
   
   
   
5. Your password must be entered and confirmed (you have to type the same password). You must type at least 8 or more characters with a mix of letters, numbers and symbols.
   
   
   
6. As an example, we will signup as Juan dela Cruz with username SectionA.juandelacruz and a password of th1s1smyb3stp4ssw0rd. 
   
   
   
7. Next should be selected.
   
   
   
8. Add and verify a phone number for your account, if desired. This is optional and does not necessarily be filled in. 
   
   
   
9. Enter your date of birth. For student under the age of 13, you need to have a parental consent.
   
   
   
10. In gender, select whether you are male or female. 
    
    
    
11. Next should be selected.
    
12. A privacy and terms agreement page will appear. This enumerates the do's and don'ts in using the google account. Click the "I Agree" button at the bottom of the page. 

     
13. Congratulations! You have created a google account. You can now access all google online services.
14. Always remember your username and password. These are the keys for you to access your google account. If possible, write your username and password in your notebook just in case you will forget it.
